:) That is awfully cute...it looks to be made really well, too! Weaving, whether of cloth or of reed-fibers, is to me one of the most amazing things ever imagined. I mean with baskets, who could ever have dreamt that if you take this bunch of dried plant fibers...and then twist and tie them into a frame...and then build up the wall by interlacing one frond after the next, that you could create a container for grains...or fruits...or dirty clothing!! :) But this is lovely, AND if you look at the basket, and imagine the trunk's being gone, you have...Princess Leia!! (Look at the ears/hair-buns...I GUARANTEE they sell this hamper somewhere as the Princess Leia Millenium Hamper!! :)
I am always curious as to why people fall in love with certain...animals, books, etc. I wonder, Kara, with your love of penguins and elephants, if there was ever an exact moment in your younger Life where the one stimuli that fostered this life-long love occurred...maybe a trip to the penguin house at a zoo...maybe a reading of Horton Hears a Who? The latter is probably my strongest memory of elephants from when I was a young lad...Horton was soo noble, and good! :) I hope you are well...do you go back to school soon? Do you look forward to your return to work, is it something you enjoy? Be well, Chris R.
